Asia Argento and Ashton Whitty

Asia Argento is an Italian actor and director of films who is a member of a large family of both. She's taken on these two fields of work for herself. When she was nine, Asia Argento was first seen in her debut film Sergio Cittis's Sogni e bisogni. She had a leading role as Cristina Comencini in her first film Zoo in 1989. Michele Soavi directed The Church 1989. In the following year, she was Nanni Moretti's daughter Red Wood Pigeon (1989) (also directed by Moretti). Close Friends (1992), written and directed by Michele Placido was the film that really launched Asia's professional profession. Asia was able to transition from young girl roles to mature and complex ones. This movie received a positive response at the Cannes International Film Festival. The Phantom of the Opera was her third collaboration alongside the father of her. Trauma and The Stendhal Syndrome were the two previous films. The Phantom of the Opera is the third time she has collaborated together with the director's father. The others are Trauma and The Stendhal Syndrome. Giuseppe Piccioni's Condannato a nozze showcased Asia's absorbed style in playing. She played Arianna in Carlo Verdone's Perdiamoci di vista. It was a character which was so complicated that she received the David di Donatello prize as the most outstanding actress. Patrice Chereau directed Queen Margot and she also played an important character. In 1995, Asia worked alongside Michel Piccoli to produce Peter Del Monte's Traveling Companion, for which she was awarded a David di Donatello. Asia began directing short films in the year 1994. She made two: Prospettive In 1996, she produced a documentary on her father, and Abel/Asia, 1998, on the legendary director Abel Ferrara. This latter was awarded by the Rome Film Festival. Asia's debut feature film came in the form of Scarlet Diva (2000) in 1999. In it, she was the lead actor as well as wrote the screenplay. The film released May 2000 in Italy, and throughout the rest the world. The film was given a special prize at the Williamsburg Film Festival in Brooklyn. Anna Lou was her first born child in the year 2001. After having directed a number of music videos, she welcomed Anna Lou. The year 2002 saw Asia appear as Jean-Marc Barr's co-star The Red Siren (Olivier Megaton) and Vin Diesel was the star of Rob Cohen's action thriller The Action. Asia is the creator of a number of short stories which were published in various magazines.
